High Noonish.

Edward Sorel did a Time Magazine cover in 1980 with Jimmy Carter in the Gary Cooper role. President Carter is walking alone down the dusty street to meet the Iranians while our allies scurry for cover. George wwwBush is no Gary Cooper and he is certainly no Jimmy Carter.

Three syllables is plenty, Ma'am.

Dogs Like Beer

Mohammed's Pup

Most Muslims have an adverse relationship with dogs. They think they are "unclean." This is sad. They have voluntarily cut themselves off from one reliable source of loyality and love. Maybe that is why they are so violence prone.

MOF2

The cartoon contest for the Union of Concerned Scientists' ( http://www.ucsusa.org/index.html ) theme is ways that the scientific community is blocked by the government from doing its job. This is my least favorite cartoon, a heavy handed regurgitation of an old idea.

Dead Salmon Walking

This was the fourth entry in the contest for concerned scientists. It is a little wacky.

Global Warm Hand Luke

Another science contest entry.

Madge's Magic Mushrooms

Thursday, June 01, 2006

The dogs have been fractious of late. Maybe its the rain, cabin fever, having too many chew toys. Madge is so far unscarred. She is a kibitzer, not a fighter.
